Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting in the achievement of the company's strategic objective and annual goals through the delivery of exceptional purchasing of company resources. To perform services reflective of Hiller's core values.
Job Responsibilities:
Create all purchase orders for goods purchased.
Assist in preparation of bidding documents and ensure that other documentation is in order.
Ensure the accuracy and quality of inventory items received.
Monitor all purchase requisitions and handle adjustments with vendors.
Function as the liaison with the accounting department to reconcile invoices and purchase orders.
Determine quantity and timing of all company purchases.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Assist Purchasing Manager in developing the company's inventory management process.
Responsible for an efficient purchasing process that ensures the company meets its financial goals.
Promptly report any purchasing issues to the appropriate leader.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High School Diploma or GED required. Prior experience in a purchasing related role preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills, and establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization as well as externally to the public.
Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and time sensitive deadlines.
Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) and expert knowledge of grammar, punctuation and editing.
Meticulous attention to detail and self-motivated.
Function in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly spends long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers (60% of the time).
Mobility required to attend weekly meetings throughout the organization.
Regularly communicates verbal and written messages with others.
Frequently bends to file and maintain files.
Occasionally lift 5-10 pounds.
Have good visual acuity.
Position Specific Standards:
Maintain confidentiality of business activities, plans and concerns.
Willing to continue training for personal growth.
