CAD Designer (Hybrid in Minneapolis)

Our client in the consumer products industry is looking for a CAD Designer. This is a contract role for 40 hours/week. The role starts as soon as possible and is expected to last 3-6 months, covering a leave of absence. -Must be local to the Minneapolis area and available to work onsite 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and one flexible day)Requirements:- Recent experience in a drafting or CAD modeling role, with a strong focus on SolidWorks- Proficiency in SolidWorks, including SolidWorks PDMResponsibilities:- Track and manage requests for new and revised models and drawings through a ticketing system- Review change and new product design requests; delegate tasks to engineers or handle directly- Provide CAD support for new product development, prototyping, and standard product updates- Create and revise 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies- Support rendering, 3D printing, and other prototyping efforts- Collaborate with a cross-functional team including CAD Designers and Mechanical Design Engineers- Report to the Senior Manager of Mechanical Design and EngineeringNOT REQUIRED but nice to haves:- Experience with CREO and Windchill- Familiarity with design for plastic injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing- Experience performing mechanical engineering calculationsIn this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.
