Key responsibilities of a journeyman electrician:

Blueprint reading:

Accurately interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to understand project requirements.

Installation and repair:

Installing new electrical systems, including wiring, conduits, outlets, fixtures, and lighting systems, as well as repairing existing electrical components.

Troubleshooting:

Qualifications for a journeyman electrician:

Apprenticeship completion:

Journeyman license:

Holding a valid journeyman electrician license in the applicable jurisdiction

Technical knowledge:

Thorough understanding of electrical theory, including basic principles of voltage, amperage, and resistance

Hand tools proficiency:

Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools specific to electrical work

Physical ability:

Capability to work in various positions, climb ladders, and lift heavy equipment
