Mechanic**
**Job Description**
In this hands-on role, you'll be tasked with keeping our fleet in top shape through routine service work on trucks and trailers. Your day-to-day will involve conducting scheduled upkeep, such as basic preventive maintenance checks, and handling tire and wheel installations. You'll also tackle entry-level electrical fixes, trailer system repairs, and help identify and resolve issues with trailer tracking technologies like RCOM.
**Responsibilities**
+ Carrying out routine service checks on trucks to ensure they meet preventive maintenance standards.
+ Performing scheduled upkeep on trailers to keep them road-ready.
+ Handling the installation of tires and wheel components.
+ Taking on entry-level electrical and trailer system fixes.
+ Identifying and resolving issues with trailer tracking tools, including RCOM systems.
**Required Skills**
+ Experience in diesel mechanics.
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
+ Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and brake systems.
+ Experience with diesel engines, welding, electrical systems, and transmissions.
+ Familiarity with hand tools and heavy equipment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Eagerness to learn and willingness to be trained in identifying brake components, operating class 8 air brakes, and identifying irregular tire wear.
+ Basic electrical repair skills.
+ Self-motivation and welding skills or previous welding experience.
+ Thermo King certification is a plus.
