MWH Constructors a global leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities is currently seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support our Bull Run Filtration Pipelines project located in Gresham OR The Safety Manager position will coordinate and implement health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel involved in project execution The Safety Manager will confirm that all project work is performed in compliance with MWHC safety programs OSHA regulations and client safety requirements This position is critical in cultivating a proactive safety culture and ensuring that all team members are equipped and empowered to work safely This position interacts throughout the organization internally and externally with subcontractors client representatives and regulatory bodies About the Role MWH is currently seeking a Safety Manager to support the construction of a Water Treatment Plant located in the greater Portland area near Sandy OR This project will be the first of its kind in and ultimately supplying 135 million gallons of water a day to the Portland community This position is a great opportunity to be a part of a historic infrastructure and filtration project and see it through the entire project delivery life cycle from groundbreaking to closeout This position is accountable for supporting all aspects of health and safety management for the pipeline project including ensuring compliance with safety regulations hazard mitigation and risk management The Health and Safety Manager will oversee the implementation of safety protocols conduct regular audits manage incident investigations and ensure corrective measures are effectively applied This role involves collaboration with operations subcontractors and project teams to maintain a safe working environment in alignment with project goals regulatory requirements and industry best practices Essential Functions Provide guidance and assistance to Operations in establishing and maintaining safety operations in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and best practicesDevelop and deliver training resources specific to pipeline safety including hazard communication emergency response for leaks and confined space safety Develop required training matrices associated with pipeline hazards and align with the project scheduleConduct comprehensive reviews of potential risks on pipeline projects identifying controls and mitigation measures including proper trenching techniques pressure testing and corrosion monitoringAdminister direct and manage compliance with the project to ensure safety goals are metProvide a strategic vision for creating safe work areas for affected employees and general publicConduct comprehensive reviews of potential risks on projects and identifies controlsmitigation measuresPerform inspections and audit project sites periodically with an emphasis on hazard recognition unsafe behaviors and corrective measures & implementation interface with clients employees and subcontractors ensuring safety programs and specifications are metSupervise develop and manage other safety professionals to ensure effective administration of accident prevention effortsDevelop and deliver training resources Leverage 3rd party training resources when necessary Develop required training matrix associated with hazards and in line with project scheduleDevelopment and implementation of work exposure control plans Understanding of IH sampling methods to support regulatory compliance with established PELsBasic Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of construction safety experience on a construction site;
