Job Details Description Custom Machine Guard Designer & Fabricator Bring your hands-on fabrication skills and creative problem-solving to a role where you'll design and build custom safety solutions that make a real impact. You'll lead the design, fabrication, and installation of machine guarding and safety in our manufacturing plants. This role is perfect for someone who thrives independently, enjoys building things from scratch, and wants to grow into larger equipment design or automation roles in the future. What You'll Do: - Design, build, and install custom machine guards and safety solutions using metal, plastic, and modern fabrication methods. - Utilize welding, metal forming, machining, and additive manufacturing (3D printing) to produce tailored safety solutions for diverse equipment and risk areas. - Document and standardize designs for repeatability across multiple plants and machine types. - Collaborate with plant teams and lead on-site safety projects. - Implement and maintain safety systems like lockout/tagout and hazard mitigation strategies. - Source and manage safety-related tools, equipment, and materials. - Occasional travel to plant sites in MN, WI, and ND for safety assessments, project implementation, and hands-on installation work. What You Bring to the Team: - Experience in a maintenance, fabrication, or technical rolepreferably in manufacturing. - Proficiency in welding, machining, fabrication, and installation. - Some working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software. - Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus. - Strong communication and self-direction. - Willingness to travel within MN, WI, and ND. The targeted salary range for this position is $21.02 to $31.52 commensurate with experience and bonus eligible .
