Develop plans and associated projects to architecture in all its stages, setting materials, finishes, techniques, and methodologies; analyzing data and information; and developing technical and financial feasibility studies. Monitor and supervise the work and services defined.
Responsibilities
- Bid Solicitation/Request for Proposal/Tender Analysis: Lead a team and develop and implement processes to conduct feasibility studies from technological, financial, and organizational perspectives on bid solicitation request for proposal (RFP) and request for tender (RFT) project requirements, and manage the writing of tender specifications.
- Construction Advice: Provide specialist professional advice relating to construction regulations and best practice with regard to complex maintenance, alteration, and construction of buildings.
- Personal Capability Building: Act as subject matter expert in an area of technology, policy, regulation, or operational management for the team and beyond in the function. Maintain external accreditations and in-depth understanding of current and emerging technologies, external regulation, and industry best practices through continuing professional development, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
- Architectural Design: Lead the design of complex and/or innovative architectural solutions and the associated validation processes to enable the realization of a design brief (e.g., in terms of functionality, aesthetics, and cost) that conforms to organizational and/or regulatory standards.
- Building Information Modeling (BIM) System: Plan, establish, and maintain the building information modeling (BIM) system, along with IT systems and infrastructure relating to building/construction development. Also responsible for managing corporate data and information related to buildings/constructions, in line with long-term business goals.
- Client & Customer Management (External): Manage key client and customer relationships. Likely to involve using account teams to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Building Surveys: Undertake building and technical surveys to determine the building condition and identify defects and associated risks. Includes conducting a wide range of surveys on complex sites.
- Community of Practice Management: Contribute strongly on a strategically significant area to a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting, or lead on an area of expertise or consulting practice, to contribute to thought leadership and to develop innovative practice among colleagues.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Ensure that business activities and individuals (e.g., employees, contractors, and visitors) within the area of responsibility adhere to the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions, to safeguard the environment, protect the well-being of individuals, and minimize business risk.
- Organizational Capability Building: Evaluate the capabilities of staff within the department to identify gaps and prioritize development activities. Implement the organization's formal development frameworks within the area of responsibility. Coach and mentor others to support the development of the organization's talent pool.
- Project Management: Manage a portfolio of major projects in line with overall project management strategy.
- Performance Management: Manage and report on performance within the department or area of responsibility; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of annual business objectives.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering
- PE license, multiple states preferred or NCEES Record Holder
- 7 - 15 years of electrical power generation, distribution and utilization system projects design experience for the public and/or private sector; previous consulting experience preferred
- Strong project management skills, managing multi-disciplinary projects on time and within budget, while exceeding client expectations
- Federal Government DoD and civilian agencies project and client experience a plus
- Active member of relevant industry associations and communities
