Job Description Summary:

Aviagen Turkeys seeks a Project Laborer for the Lewisburg, WV operations. A Project Laborer is responsible for performing various tasks at a construction site. Their duties include loading and unloading building materials, assembling scaffolding or other pieces of equipment and utilizing powered hand tools throughout the construction process. This position is full-time, hourly, non-exempt. The successful candidate will report to the Project Manager, and will work at various sites in Monroe County and Greenbrier County in WV.

Job Description:

Employees must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug test.

Employees cannot own poultry or swine.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Cleaning and preparing construction sites.

• Loading and unloading materials and equipment.

• Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures.

• Digging trenches, compacting earth and backfilling holes.

• Operating and tending machinery and equipment.

• Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.

• Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties

• Installing poultry equipment

• Installing PVC plumbing materials

• Caulking floor and wall seams

• Comply with Company Bio-Security Rules and Health, Safety and Environmental Policies, Animal Welfare Policies and all other Procedures and Standards.

• Adhering to all safety initiatives helping to maintain a zero-accident culture.

• Performing other duties as assigned.

• Requirements:

• Cannot own poultry or swine

• Must pass a drug test and undergo a background check.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.

• Must be able to operate related equipment and tools.

• Must work a flexible schedule that may include weekends and holidays.

• Must possess basic construction skills.

• Must have reliable transportation.

• Be able to lift up to 75lbs.

• Have a positive attitude.

• Be willing to learn.

Additional Skills: Medium-duty equipment operator skills; OSHA, or other trade-related certifications
