Welder/Grinder Job Description The Welder/Grinder will perform hard wire MIG welding on steel, focusing on grinding and sanding their own welds. The role involves working on various custom projects, including handrails and stairway assemblies. Welding will predominantly be flat horizontal and vertical down, with parts fitted and tacked prior to your involvement. The job offers diverse projects weekly, avoiding monotonous production welding. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on steel for custom projects. Grind and sand own welds to meet quality standards. Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to receive and incorporate feedback. Adapt to varying day-to-day workloads and project requirements. Essential Skills Minimum of 1 year of MIG welding experience or equivalent schooling. Experience in grinder operation. Possession of personal weld gear including shield, jacket, and gloves. Ability to be coached and driven by feedback. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in fabrication and fitting is advantageous. The shift is from Monday to Friday, 5:30am to 2pm, with overtime usually extending until 4pm. There is a minimum of 24-hour notice for overtime, typically provided one week in advance. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
