WHAT WE'RE DOING
At Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company, we are at the forefront of designing and manufacturing advanced helicopters for both commercial and military missions. Our Aerostructures group, based in Stratford, CT, is dedicated to the structural assembly of our fixed-wing aircraft. THE WORK
- Follow prescribed procedures and detailed instructions to install, replace or adjust a variety of components, sub-assemblies, and purchased units, etc. on aircraft.
- Typical installations include, but are not limited to; main landing gear, tail cone, tail drive shaft, pylon, tail rotor, service platform, main rotor fairing, instrument and overhead panels, engine cowlings, oil cooler, cyclic pitch controls, cabin and cockpit heater, rescue hoist, cabin or cockpit windows, personnel and cargo doors, pilot and co-pilot seats, transmission fairing, pitch sticks, sound-proofing, batteries, primary servo.
- Work from specific instructions and final drawings to complete work assignments on aircraft.
- Install standard tubing and hydraulic units including servos and electrical harnesses and equipment kits.
- Rework or repair simple parts to obtain proper shape or fit.
- Occasionally fabricate simple detail parts and/or tools required to expedite the completion of urgent assignments.
- Perform any operation necessary to fasten parts, such as file, fit, drill, ream, countersink, bolt, rivet, etc.
- Complete a wide variety of routine rigging assignments as required.
- At the direction of supervision, perform a variety of other duties, usually of a related or similar nature, such as correcting inspection reported discrepancies, and pressure checking installed hydraulic units.
