Job Description

As a Manufacturing Operator I, you will play a crucial role in the production process of agars. Your responsibilities will include ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance in all aspects of manufacturing while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and safely operate assigned machinery, perform simple maintenance, and report malfunctioning equipment immediately.
  • Set up and adjust machines to accommodate different sizes.
  • Obtain correct materials from the warehouse or staging area for operation needs.
  • Organize production flow, ensure materials availability, estimate progress, and schedule breaks according to the production time schedule.
  • Accurately document and check work for quality and compliance, monitor product for defects, and assist with the inventory process.
  • Dispense required additives to media, perform techniques to achieve pH balance, and investigate potential production failures.
  • Follow all written procedures, report discrepancies to the Area Supervisor, and perform all work activities safely while wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Report property damage and/or safety hazards immediately to the Supervisor, Human Resources, Safety Specialist, or Management.
  • Complete production assignments timely according to departmental schedules.
  • Sign off on DHRs in proper places and fill in pertinent information in accordance with SOPs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned when necessary.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate in English, both written and verbally.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 600 lb. wheeled kettles.
  • Ability to stand for approximately 10 hours a day.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, production, volume fill, and filler machines.
  • Skills in production, assembly, cleanroom, packaging, hand tools, pick pack, production line, visual inspection, assembly line, inspection, machine operation, and general labor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.45 - $21.45/hr.
