This position has responsibility for the creation and execution of mill capital projects as assigned. This includes project initiation, design, cost estimation, scope and cost control, construction, project safety, commissioning, and all other aspects of project management through project close-out. The key area of concentration will be in the Electrical and Instrument (E&I) fields.
Required Qualifications:
Degree in Electrical Engineering BSEE, BSEET or equivalent
Strong background in electrical / instrumentation design for industrial environments (pulp and paper preferred)
Extensive knowledge of control systems, DCS, PLC, & Drive Systems
Strong power systems background
Strong initiative, self-directed, quick learner with a strong desire for continuous improvement
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Can effectively lead and work with others, lead meetings and present information to groups
Proven ability to lead multi-disciplined teams in the implementation of projects up to $20MM
Assist in the training and development of less experienced engineers that may be assigned for specific purposes
Effectively manage and gain the support of resources who are not direct reports
Can effectively manage multiple priorities
Strong safety leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
7-10+ years of experience in capital project management with E&I focus
Experience in problem solving and change management systems (Kepner-Tregoe, Root Cause Failure Analysis, Management of Change, Reliability Centered Maintenance)
Pulping and wood free coated paper project and maintenance experience
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Computerized Mtce Mgmt Systems (SAP))
