Job Summary:
Lerch Bates is seeking a Project Manager. The project manager develops program and system specifications to meet customers' technical requirements and guides the enablement, configuration, or coding of products and solutions. Provides technical information, requirements, and project cost estimates to use in proposals, quotes, and statements of work. Creates and maintains documentation to provide customers with a reliable technical resource for product operation and maintenance. This role will supervise the technical support team.

What You’ll Do:
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed in this position. They are not intended to prescribe or restrict the assignments that management may make.
- Facilitate and attend client meetings with architects.
- Participate in all aspects of project development, including but not limited to bid and contract development, conceptual planning, design, construction administration, maintenance audits, site safety and equipment inspections and modernization projects for vertical transportation systems.
- Manages assigned active projects with assistance to ensure client satisfaction, quality, timeliness of delivery and timely billing and payment.
- Assists with the planning, coordination, billing, delivery, and all other activities associated with other business lines in the assigned service area as requested.
- Provides scheduled and requested reports with assistance to business support functions and leadership as requested, including but not limited to equipment and systems status, percentage of work completed, billing percentages, contract additions, change orders, and deficiencies lists.
- Oversee the allocation of projects and tasks, directing the assignment of workflows to ensure efficient project execution.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture/Engineering or related field is required
- 1-3 years of experience in Engineering, Construction, or the Elevator industry preferred
- Strong AutoCAD, Revit, math, geometry, and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of how to arrive at mechanical, electrical, and structural loads, i.e., mathematical formulas, and can figure loads out without the assistance of electrical or mechanical devices or spreadsheets.
- Customer Service experience .
- Knowledge of the industry, including expert knowledge in one or more of the following areas: elevators, escalators, moving walkways, mid- and/or high-rise building design, specifications and analysis or other vertical transportation equipment.
- Knowledge and adherence to applicable industry ASME codes, standards and safety rules.
- Project management skills, including the ability to coordinate the design and implementation of systems with the architectural team, building owner, management companies, municipalities, etc., as well as the work and time of self and others.
- Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and negotiation communication skills.
- Deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to maintain gain and maintain current knowledge and understanding on industry operational and equipment trends.
- Ability to execute tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Ability to present professionally in communication, interactions and attire and hygiene with customers, the public and others.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of Consultants and Designers, build partnerships and direct teams.
- Ability to travel regionally on a regular basis.
- Intermediate or better proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Acrobat and PowerPoint, CAD/Drawing review software, CAD deliverables, Project Time Recording System.

Working Environment:
This role involves both physical and mental demands and may be performed in various settings, including offices, construction sites, and confined spaces like elevator pits. Tasks often require frequent movement in multiple directions. Lerch Bates will provide reasonable accommodations upon request through Human Resources.
Physical Demands:
This role requires regular sitting, talking, and hearing in meetings and by phone. Employees must navigate tight spaces, climb ladders, move around construction sites, take measurements, and travel by car, air, or rail. Duties may involve working at heights and in confined spaces, using hands for tasks like typing and operating elevator components, and applying up to 30 lbs. of force. Close visual attention is also required.
Mental Demands:
This position requires strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Employees must interpret complex information, apply mathematical and logical reasoning, quickly learn new skills, and manage detailed, multitask workloads under shifting deadlines. Regular interaction with executives, colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders is also expected.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug test. Other Requirements
- Proven successful employment history, with experience in the construction trade or existing building trade preferred.
- Bachelors degree required, preferred areas of study include but not limited to Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering.
- Experience with project specifications, RFP, bid preparation, negotiation, awards, and change orders is advantageous.
- Previous experience in the elevator industry is preferred but not necessary.
