Job Title: Construction Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and independent Construction Manager with a background in engineering or electrical trades to support our data center construction projects. This role is crucial in ensuring project success by managing site activities, coordinating with stakeholders, and maintaining high-quality execution. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience with construction systems and processes, and the ability to work independently while keeping the project on track.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure alignment with project schedules and quality standards.
- Manage subcontractors and vendors, particularly in electrical and MEP scopes.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve on-site construction challenges.
- Coordinate with project teams, including design, engineering, and commissioning teams.
- Provide regular progress reports and escalate critical issues when necessary.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Support procurement logistics and material management.
- Lead site meetings and maintain clear communication across all levels of the project.
- Ensure construction aligns with contract requirements and owner's expectations.
Essential Skills
- Strong ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, scheduling, and site coordination.
- Technical expertise in electrical systems, power distribution, and critical infrastructure.
- Experience working with data center projects or other mission-critical facilities.
- Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Primavera P6.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to dynamic project conditions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or a related field preferred OR extensive experience in electrical trades.
- 5 years of experience in construction management, preferably in data center or mission-critical environments.
- Experience managing electrical scopes in large-scale construction projects.
- Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- PMI or PMP certification preferred.
Work Environment
This position requires working onsite in Manassas, Monday through Friday, for 40-50 hours per week. The role involves collaborating closely with safety personnel, general contractors, and trade partners to oversee quality, schedule, and safety. The work environment is dynamic, requiring a growth mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively with the general contractor.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $87.00 - $97.00/hr.
