Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support field teams, including Project Engineers and Superintendents, in supervising field operations and subcontractor activities. The role involves interpreting drawings, preparing work plans, verifying code and specification compliance, managing material takeoffs, procurement, and delivery scheduling, and leading project closeouts as per contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise field operations and subcontractor activities.
- Interpret drawings, prepare work plans, and ensure code/spec compliance.
- Manage material takeoffs, procurement, and delivery scheduling.
- Lead project closeout per contract requirements and manage financial closeout with subcontractors and the Owner.
- Maintain document control and subcontractor compliance.
- Review shop drawings, mock-ups, and subcontractor scopes.
- Ensure OSHA and environmental compliance.
- Coordinate with QA/QC on non-compliance issues.
- Identify critical work and long-lead items.
- Assist with schedules, updates, purchase orders, and subcontracts.
- Support monthly billing, cash flow, and change order processing.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field.
- 5-10 years of heavy civil infrastructure project experience.
- Experience working on projects that are $100 million+.
- Strong background in cost/finance.
- Knowledge of legal/contract and claims processes.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Work Environment
The work environment includes supporting the Midtown Port Authority Bus Terminal project. The role involves collaborating with a team of Superintendents, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Field Engineers, Construction Managers, and more. The projects are large-scale and high-profile, impacting communities and providing opportunities for professional growth and development
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $175000.00/yr.
