Welder and Fitter**

**Job Description**

We are seeking a skilled Welder and Fitter to join our manufacturing team in a large-scale facility. The role involves interpreting and executing welding instructions, verifying the quality and quantity of welded parts, and working with structural drawings.

**Responsibilities**

+ Comprehend welding instructions and structural drawings.

+ Verify correct quantity and quality of parts welded.

+ Layout stitch welds, including locations and sizes for welders.

+ Work from drawings, patterns, fixtures, and specifications.

+ Layout and operate both fuel gas and plasma hand torches for fitting purposes.

+ Move material using a forklift and crane according to standard operating procedures, safety regulations, and practices.

+ Assist with the welding of weldments.

+ Perform cleaning, assembly, and straightening operations.

+ Execute welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, SAW, and TIG.

+ Comply with all quality policies, specifications, and instructions.

**Essential Skills**

+ Experience with MIG, hardwire, steel, blueprint reading, welding, flux, sub arc, GMAW, and flux core.

+ Fabrication and fitting skills.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and perform basic shop math.

+ Proficiency in large-scale open table setup and ideally flux core (1/16 or 3/32).

+ Minimum of 3 years of flux core, sub arc, MIG or hardwire welding experience.

+ 3 years of blueprint reading experience.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Welding certificates or associate degrees in welding are desirable.

+ Heavy plate experience is a plus.

**Work Environment**

Join our large manufacturing environment with shifts from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Work in a spacious, open facility where steel-toed shoes and hearing protection are required.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, Wisconsin.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.
