Job Summary: The Project Manager Lead/Package Owner Lead (herein known as the PM/PO Lead) will be responsible for leading a group MFG11 system/equipment package owners/project engineers to ensure that all associated packages are delivered on time and on budget in order to achieve the desired project delivery timelines. The PM/PO Lead will report to the Project Director MFG11. It is expected that the PM/PO Lead will perform the following non-exhaustive list of tasks as part of his/her role:
- Project Planning and Scheduling: In conjunction with the associated Package owner/Project Engineers, develop and manage the delivery and installation of all packages.
- Execution Strategy: Support the creation and implement a homogenous execution strategy to ensure each package scope is delivered in a controlled and well-communicated manner
- Coordination and Communication: Facilitate communication between his/her engineering teams, the construction Manager (CM), Project Director and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth project progression
- Cost and Deadline Management: Working with each Package Owner/Project Engineer, support the preparation of cost estimates and monitor adherence to deadlines and budgets
- Resource Management: Ensure resources and provisions are in place for upcoming Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
- Technical Expertise: Utilize extensive experience in process engineering & project management Overall, the PM/PO Lead ensures that all System/Equipment/Facility packages are delivered efficiently on time, and within budget, contributing to the overall success of MFG11 project. It is expected that the Position Project Manager Lead/Package Owner Lead Department Global Engineering Business Unit Biologics Line Manager Project Director MFG11 Location Massachusetts PM/PO Lead builds and fosters relationships and networks with the CM, his/her team, local SMEs and key department owners/area leads to support the delivery of the MFG11 project.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for oversight of all aspects of project delivery including ensuring resources, both staff and contractor, are available to support said delivery.
- Liaise directly with the CM to ensure construction progress is aligned with equipment/systems/facility delivery & Fit-Out.
- Set-up and attend daily huddle meetings with Package Owners/Project Engineers
- Attend construction meetings as required.
- Provide weekly progress reports to Project Director MFG11
- Approve weekly timesheets for contractors who as package owner/Project Engineers for MFG11.
- Support recruitment of Package Owner/Project Engineers MFG11.
- Provide functional expertise for incoming WuXi equipment thus ensuring timely execution in accordance with client-based project expectations and deliverables
- Document and follow site project procedural standards and controls to govern projects' execution.
- Ensure that project scopes are executed in a manner that is compliant with program milestones, quality/safety standards and budget plans. Escalates appropriately in case of unforeseen variation and suggests potential needed mitigation measures
- Ensures effective technical clarity and process coordination with all project stakeholders.
- Drives to a high standard of quality and safety at all stages within the project life cycle to ensure full compliance and zero safety observations.
- Perform all duties in accordance with GMP requirements, SOPs and controlled documents.
- Will be flexible to take on additional tasks and responsibilities at the discretion of the Project Director MFG11.

Qualifications:
- BSc. degree in an Engineering or science discipline is preferred
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant area of expertise (e.g. Business administration, project management) would be advantageous.
- Proven track record of successful management of a system &/or facility portfolio
- Ability to negotiate through project challenges and deliver successful project outcomes with clients/customers, vendors and contractors.
- Strong level of professional experience and strong track record in the management of detailed engineering project teams is desirable
- Strong level of professional understanding of a project life cycle is required.
- Must have a knowledge of safety, quality and environmental regulatory requirements to execute projects on site
- A proven track record of delivering continuous improvement and value across multiple process streams and customers
- Understand the multiple stages within the Project life cycle and the deliverables for same.
- Strong track record in execution of projects - on time, within budget to meet customer & end-users needs.
- A strong communicator with the ability to work well within a cross-functional team.
