JOB SUMMARY:

This position requires a highly motivated, hands-on Facilities Supervisor for our Milford CT Lighter Plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage projects and coordinate activities with various internal and external suppliers.
  • Oversee staff and installations, inspections, repairs, building maintenance systems that include mechanical, electrical, safety, plumbing, HVAC, safety and waste management.
  • Ensures optimal functionality of all critical building systems including HVAC, utility systems, storm water systems, process waste systems, grounds, site security, fences, gates, surveillance, alarms, locks, etc.
  • Schedule and ensure completion of preventative maintenance.
  • Trains team on policies and procedures.
  • Manages all budgets related to Plant Services.
  • Safety and Compliance, ensuring that the facility and its operations adhere to all safety regulations and compliance standards, including OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Preventative maintenance, implement and maintain a comprehensive maintenance program to minimize downtime and ensure equipment longevity.
  • Participates in capacity planning and strategy development for manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with capital, strategies, justification and acquisitions.
  • Create and update yearly TPM for Plant Services equipment and assets and ensure timely completion.
  • Process, receive and review invoices via JD Edwards and Buy4BIC.
  • Interface with peers, suppliers and industry organizations to research and develop new process designs and technology concepts.
  • Vendor management, coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services and supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Engineering Management or related technical degree.
  • Engineering preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Facilities Management.
  • Minimum 3 years of Plant / Facilities Services work required.
  • Project Management, experience in planning, organizing and managing facility improvement projects.
  • Understanding of Facilities and Plant Equipment maintenance (Preventive, Reactive, Troubleshooting)
  • Program/project management experience required: must demonstrate leadership, teamwork, collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
  • Reporting and documentation, maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs and project progress.
  • Self-motivated with strong written and verbal skills; ability to effectively prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations.
  • Ability to lead and function in a team environment, while effectively communicating across various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to travel in support of job function (plants, customers, suppliers, etc.)
