Estimator / Project Manager - Structural Steel- Construction (Brooklyn) compensation: Based on Experience employment type: job title: Estimator The Chief Estimator will oversee estimating professionals that collaborate with professionals including sales, purchasing agents, architects, and engineers to provide a cost-effective estimating solution that fosters the purchase of fabrication, and erection services. This is a senior level position, responsible to lead, manage, plan, coordinate, and direct the estimating function. Actively participates in the development and implementation of department standards, procedures and process improvement. Responsible for review of all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness. Project Manager / Estimator - Steel Division Full-Time | On-Site | Brooklyn, NY Responsibilities: Estimate structural and miscellaneous steel projects using drawings, specs, and site visits Perform detailed takeoffs and prepare competitive bids Oversee awarded projects from pre-construction to closeout Coordinate fabrication and field crews to meet deadlines and budget targets Submit RFIs, submittals, and manage project documentation Provide clear and detailed weekly reports on job budget, progress, and schedule to senior management Track materials, deliveries, and subcontractor performance Handle change orders, schedule updates, and client communications Maintain strong working relationships with general contractors, developers, and suppliers Ensure compliance with safety regulations, site logistics, and scope accuracy Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience managing steel construction projects Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection, and detailing Proficiency in interpreting structural and architectural drawings Skilled in Microsoft Office, estimating software, and preferably AutoCAD Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills Experience with NYC projects, prevailing wage, and union coordination is a plus SCA (School Construction Authority) project experience is a major plus Work Experience A minimum of (4-7) years related experience estimating and bidding on structural steel and heavy plate projects with 5 years as a Senior Estimator. Prior supervisory/managerial experience preferred. Education/Training HS Diploma or Equivalent. A bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management is highly preferred.
