The Industrial Electrician Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of a team of electricians working on industrial electrical installations, maintenance, and repair projects. This role ensures all electrical work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, company standards, and project specifications. The foreman serves as a working leader, providing both hands-on electrical work and leadership to the crew.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and direct a team of electricians and apprentices on industrial job sites or within a facility.
- Plan, schedule, and assign tasks to crew members based on project requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
- Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA safety standards, and company policies.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to guide electrical installations and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues related to industrial equipment, motors, panels, and control systems.
- Manage inventory of tools, materials, and equipment, and ensure their proper use and maintenance.
- Conduct safety meetings, job hazard assessments, and ensure proper use of PPE and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate performance of junior electricians and apprentices.
- Complete job reports, timesheets, and other documentation accurately and on time.

- High school diploma or GED required; technical school or apprenticeship program preferred.
- Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician License (depending on state/local requirements).
- 5–7 years of industrial electrical experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of 3-phase power, motor control systems, PLCs, and industrial automation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Proficient with electrical tools, test equipment (e.g., multimeter, megger), and materials.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
