Your key duties Undertake detailed mechanical engineering designAct as the mechanical lead on a portfolio of projectsProduction of coordinated detailed design drawings, specifications, written reports, site observation reports, schedules etc. on a variety of projectsWork competently on an independent basisEnsure service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget.Plan and manage REVIT documentation of design workMentor and assist Graduate EngineersPrepare technical specifications, review and sign-off on calculations and prepare construction documentsWork closely with clients, architects, other Buro Happold Engineers, and/or design team members as part of a dedicated and skilled teamCommunicate directly with ClientsManage workload of Project Discipline Engineers (including verification of quality)Take responsibility for concept and preliminary engineering solutionsCarry out design reviews prior to the issue of technical documentationMonitor financial performance of projectsUnder guidance of senior staff, represent Buro Happold at meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers.Set up and manage job/project administrative systems, including planning and monitoring job resourcing/expenditure (adjusting these as necessary)Keep senior staff informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achievedContinually ensure practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client's best interests and that Buro Happold policy is in keeping with current legislation and the relevant building codes for the relevant state etc Your skills and experience 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and HVAC experienceAbility to accept a high degree of responsibility in a team-based organization, combined with ability to work independentlyBroad Mechanical Engineering and Environmental design knowledge, from working on a wide range of US and international projectsIdeally sector experience in Cultural projects, Labs, Commercial and Higher EducationExperience using Revit, BIM360, and NavisworksExperience using Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and BluebeamStrong interpersonal and organizational skillsRelevant bachelor or master degreePE preferred, but not necessary What we offer: Salary range of $90,000 to $120,000.
