Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle of large-scale data center construction projects for a global technology client. This is a full-time onsite role, responsible for overseeing all phases of project delivery, from planning and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. The Senior Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams, contractors, vendors, and other key stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of data center construction projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Drive project execution strategies and ensure alignment with client goals, technical requirements, and delivery timelines.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams, consultants, and contractors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external contractors, vendors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the client and all project participants, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project budgets, schedules, and forecasts.
  • Monitor financial performance, control costs, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Lead change management processes and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Ensure all construction activities meet or exceed quality standards and comply with safety regulations and environmental requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and quality reviews.
  • Negotiate, manage, and enforce contracts with contractors and vendors.
  • Oversee performance, ensure compliance with contractual terms, and manage claims or disputes as needed.
  • Provide regular project updates through reports, presentations, and dashboards tailored to various stakeholder audiences.
  • Facilitate project meetings, maintain action logs, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery processes and implement best practices.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience managing large-scale data center, mission critical high-tech or relatable construction projects.
  • Field experience or field engineer experience is highly beneficial.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale, multi-phase construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Strong technical knowledge of data center design, engineering, and construction processes.
  • Field experience or field engineering background is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to risk mitigation and issue resolution.
  • Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Experience negotiating and managing construction contracts.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is strongly preferred.
