POSITION SUMMARY
This role involves a variety of tasks to support our operations, including collecting trash, recycling, and scrap, assisting in the loading and unloading of raw materials and equipment, and performing various duties within the Tool and ECC departments. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other tools, as well as the ability to maintain clean and organized work areas.
As a Laborer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment by following safety protocols, operating machinery, and performing fire and tank watch duties. This position requires a high level of physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect trash, recycling, and scrap
- Assist in loading and unloading raw materials, tools, and equipment.
- Assist Tool/ECC departments perform various tasks, such as Inventory, Tool, Hose and Cable repairs, Stocking shelves.
- Operate Forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Operate Street Sweeper and other floor cleaning equipment.
- Monitor empty and full bottles on shop floor and replace as necessary
- Operate hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, grinders, and sanders.
- Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform Fire and Tank watch duties
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
QUALIFICATIONS:
- US Citizenship required
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Good Communication skills
- Good Organization skills
- Forklift and pallet jack experience
- Experience using tools such as drills, grinders, sanders and saws.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Must have OSHA 10
- Must be able to work 2nd shift schedule
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy objects 50 lbs. plus
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
