Alutiiq Operations Services, LLC has an exciting opportunity for a High Voltage Supervisor supporting Tinker Air Force Base located in Oklahoma City, OK. The High Voltage Supervisor manages and directs teams responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage electrical systems, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficient operation. The High Voltage Electrician Supervisor serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for the electrical work of the Utilities Shop, responsible for the accountability of assigned employees, tools, equipment, and other resources in the accomplishment of contract requirements. Serves as the SME in performance of services, installation and repairs of electrical, lighting and control systems in base facilities (including industrial and commercial systems) utilizing knowledge of electrical theory. The High Voltage Supervisor is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the high voltage/power generation infrastructure.

  • Assists in the creation and implementation of work schedules, material requirements and personnel resources to ensure contract requirements are properly met.
  • Ensures employee compliance with safety, security, property and material management, as well as time and attendance.
  • Inspects work in progress and completed work to ensure accomplishment in most effective and efficient manner.
  • Installs, maintains, or repairs equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
  • Installs, repairs, or replaces a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors and other transmission equipment.
  • Performs high voltage switching during scheduled and non-scheduled power outages.
  • Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
  • Locates and diagnoses malfunctions in the electrical system or equipment.
  • Performs work on overhead lines, substations and in manholes; under limited circumstances with Supervisor approval, may be required to perform work on energized circuits.
  • Works from, operates, and drives bucket and pole trucks.
  • Reads and maintains utility meters.
  • Performs standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
  • Uses a variety of high voltage electricians hand tools, measuring and testing instruments.
  • Operates and maintains 12KV electrical distribution lines, transformers, and substations.
  • Adheres to safety practices and procedures, such as checking equipment regularly and erecting barriers around work areas.
  • Identifies defective sectionalizing devices, circuit breakers, fuses, voltage regulators, transformers, switches, relays, or wiring, using wiring diagrams and electrical-testing instruments.
  • Performs cable splicing and terminations to various cable types (lead, EPR crosslink, etc).
  • Informs supervisors on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Carries proper tools/testing devices/equipment and accomplishes repairs according to accepted trade practices.
  • Uses electrical skills, multi-meters, and meggers to measure voltage and ohms readings to troubleshoot circuit boards and other electrical circuitry.
  • Perform periodic maintenance inspections of all equipment associated with electrical systems and report all system discrepancies or conditions to your Supervisor.
  • Complies with all OSHA and 70E safety regulations and adheres to proper codes and standards with a thorough understanding of safety procedures related to Electrical Systems and Lock out/Tag out Procedures.
  • Utilizes Safety Data Sheets to identify chemical characteristics.
  • Completes Work Orders daily and accurately.
  • Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to state and federal Code Requirements and reports back to supervisor.
  • Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction.
  • Assists in the training and development of staff in related fields.
  • Assists in the procurement of parts and materials for job completion.
  • Eight years experience required as an High Voltage Electrician relevant to the job description.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of codes and regulations related to the National Electric Code (NEC) and other local codes is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of high voltage regulators and their operation is required.
  • Candidate must comply with OSHA and NFPA regulations.
  • Valid State of Oklahoma Class "B" CDL or equivalent required.
  • Must be CPR qualified or become CPR qualified within 45 days of hire date (company provided).
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License;
  • Ability to read blueprints or technical diagrams, install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting.
  • Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to solve problems and work independently without supervision.
  • Must be able to organize staff and materials, disseminate information, and track project progression.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in technology and applicable facility/infrastructure codes and standards.
  • Previous experience working on a military installation.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diverse situations.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master Electrical License

Pay range: $75,000 to $90,000 per year
