Base Pay Range: $80,161 - $138,468
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
Position Summary
Electrical Engineer plays a key role in supporting Banner’s Wireless, Network and Condition Monitoring Business Unit team by facilitating Banner’s continued growth in the industrial automation and system control market. This position is responsible for designing, testing and documenting new sensor monitoring devices with connectivity to system controllers, and contributing to the success of Banner’s goals. The ideal candidate brings strong electrical engineering skills, specifically in hardware design, and a proven ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and work in a team environment. A desire to develop embedded solutions to drive your electrical designs is a strongly preferred skill.
This position reports to the Technologist.
What You’ll Be Doing

Key Responsibilities
- Design analog and digital circuits used in industrial communication and control products
- Evaluate designs through product testing to ensure the products meet the intended requirements
- Provide directions to PCB designers on layout design
- Manage product documentation including bill of materials (BOMs), design verification reports, and engineering change orders (ECOs)
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, production test, and manufacturing engineers to provide globally competitive products
- Confer with Banner’s Purchasing department and outside vendors to qualify electronic parts
- Provide work direction to Technicians as necessary

Required
- Previous experience in electrical engineering or related field. Relevant internships will be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a team environment
Preferred
- Knowledge of wireless technology and antenna operation
- Background in analog and digital circuit design, particularly with power regulation, battery powered applications, and radio control design
- Analog / small signal electrical design
- Familiarity with embedded systems working with different sensor technologies
- Experience testing and troubleshooting circuits in both prototype and production environments
- Experience using microcontrollers and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, etc.)
- Knowledgeable in CE Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) test requirements, and ability to perform preliminary testing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and thrive in a team environment
Desirable
- Experience developing firmware
- Familiarity with command-line tools and source-control systems such as Git
- Basic understanding of microcontroller architecture, embedded systems and microcontroller programming

- Standard hours Monday through Friday with core hours between 9am – 3pm
