Job Summary: We are looking to hire a self-driven and passionate civil or structural engineer to work closely with our lead bridge engineer who has over 25 years of experience designing short and mid-span steel girder and prestressed concrete bridges. Responsibilities:
* Provide design engineering, including development of drawings and specifications for roadways,
culverts, small and mid-span bridges, etc. to be used by contractors or owners for construction improvements.
* Provide project management for the design team.
* Provide in-field technical assistance for construction, utilities coordination, and subconsultant
management and coordination.
* Coordinate environmental permits and clearances.
* Coordinate with clients and contractors.
* Prepare cost estimates and quantity take-offs.
* Participate in public meetings.
* Meet the financial goals for both the client and the company.
Qualifications:
* A four-year civil or structural engineering degree from an accredited university.
* Two to five years of design experience developing bridge drawings and specifications.
* Familiarity with ODOT and/or WSDOT funding programs and procedures (preferred but not
mandatory).
* Experience completing 'local agency' type roadway and bridge projects. (preferred but not
mandatory).
* Training and/or classes in prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, and steel.
* An Oregon Professional Engineer's License, or the ability to obtain one within one to three years
of employment.
* Valid driver's license.
Desired Skills and Experience:
* Public speaking skills with experience participating in meetings with clients, the public, and
contractors.
* Familiarity with municipal infrastructure funding programs and procedures.
* Experience in developing and writing planning documents, work agreements, and task orders.
* Experience with Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and other PDF tools is desired but not mandatory.
* Experience working with subconsultants.
* Willingness to contribute to a team environment.
* Experience with scheduling, managing resources, and producing timely deliverables.
* An interest in developing effective, long-lasting relationships with clients, peers, and
management.
