Assistant Construction Superintendent

The Assistant Construction Superintendent’s primary responsibility is to support the Project Manager and Superintendent/QC/Safety team in the successful completion of assigned projects.

The location is in Layton, Utah which would require residency in Utah.

Their responsibilities include:

  • Participates in overseeing job site safety and compliance, quality, and project scheduling for assigned projects from pre-construction to closeout. 
  • Work collaboratively with Project Manager, project team members, and field in a professional manner. 
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships and communication with clients, Construction Manager, project team, consultants/architect/engineers, subcontractors, and governmental agencies. 
  • Knowledge of software, word and excel is also useful in this job.
  • Maintain, file and update project records including RFI’s, ASI’s and as-builts.
  • May run errands to pick up supplies/materials for the office and/or jobsite.
  • May coordinate and take Minutes of the Meeting with Government.
  • Assist with jobsite cleanup when needed. Cleanup is also recommended prior to final walk (before closing out the project) with Government.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed by the Project Manager.

This position reports to the Project Manager.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The Assistant Superintendent is regularly required to: 

  • Walk, climb stairs, sit, and stand.
  • Talk and hear at normal levels.
  • See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus.
  • Reach with hands and arms. • Use hands and fingers to operate tools. Lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Experience on a construction job site. 
  • Knowledge of health and safety laws. 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to multitask. 
  • Keen attention to detail.
