Position : Estimator - Commercial Construction
Location : Pelham, AL
Salary : $85,000 - $95,000 per year

About the Role:
United Trades of America, is seeking a highly skilled Estimator with a proven track record in commercial construction. The ideal candidate will be proficient in multiple estimating software platforms, with a strong ability to perform detailed takeoffs and develop budgets for design-build projects. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed takeoffs from commercial construction prints to develop accurate cost estimates.

• Develop budgets for design-build projects with minimal design input, working collaboratively with sales and other team members.

• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing for bids and budgets.

• Review and discuss estimates and bids with ownership before submission.

• Integrate estimates into Procore or other project management software for use in budgeting and forecasting.

• Digitize handwritten estimates into electronic formats when needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience : Demonstrated success as an estimator in commercial construction; ability to work independently with minimal training.

• Education : Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.

• Technical Skills :

  • Proficiency in construction estimating software ( Procore experience is a major plus ).

  • Strong ability to interpret construction prints and perform takeoffs.

  • Capable of budgeting projects without prints (project range: $1M - $8M).

• Soft Skills :

  • Exceptional critical thinking and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.

  • Self-motivated, with effective time management in a flexible, fast-paced environment.

• Office-based role with typical hours of 8 AM to 4 PM , offering flexibility for personal needs or extended hours as necessary.
