Qualifications:

• Firemans Certificate or higher
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated capacity to recognize facility/personnel needs and respond accordingly
• Demonstrated ability to cooperate and communicate with a wide range of individuals and groups including contractors
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to organize, schedule and train caretaking staff
• Demonstrated skill in previous job assignments, preferably in a large high school or similar facility
• Ability to operate hand and power caretaking and maintenance tools and equipment
• Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain state of the art Mechanical and HVAC system
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety through:
  • Modelling best practices related to safety
  • Consistent monitoring of work site to identify and remedy potential hazards
  • Requiring and monitoring work safe practices of supervised staff
• Basic understanding of electrical theory
• Basic computer knowledge
• Superior working knowledge of caretaking supplies, equipment, procedures and systems
• Ability to coordinate, with the principal and head caretaker, user/rental groups
• Commitment to work duties within the classification and reliability in attendance
• Commitment to ideals and principles of Catholic education

Terms of Employment:

• As per Collective Agreement
• 8.0 hours/day
• Start date TBD
• Salary range - $28.12 - $32.40 per hour
