PLEASE NOTE: The Engineer will spend the 1st year in Germany before settling at the Plant.

SUMMARY:

Execute the Contract Package to which they are assigned consistent with published objectives and guidelines and Company principles, to provide a high level of expertise in Project related technical specialist skills regarding all aspects of instrument and/or electrical field engineering, including electronic, pneumatic , pressure, temperature, and flow level instrumentation, power generation and distribution systems, power transformers, switchgear motor control centers, and low voltage systems such as instrument power supplies and lighting systems in order to effectively support the technical needs of the Contract Package facilities in keeping with Project Execution Plan objectives, regulatory limits, and Company expectations, engineering procedures, and standards.

Mega Project: Plans to build facilities for 1 million MT/year VCM and480 MT/year resins at the site on the US Gulf-coast. We are in the process of selecting technology providers and getting agreement sin place for Fels and EPC based on a leading and achievable construction completion. The project also plans to produce chlorine on-site and market the derivative products. We are focused on achieving net-zero GHG emissions through combination of clean energies including on-site solar, with consideration of future electrification and hydrogen fuels.

Engineer ( s) occupying this position resident in the Contractors office is/are candidate ( s) for transfer to the field as Field Electrical and/or Instrumentation Engineer.

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of Engineering in a refinery, petrochemical plant, chlor alkali or heavy industrial facility
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or another technical field

What Will Put You Ahead?

  • 15+ years of capital projects and engineering experience in a refinery or petrochemical plant, chlor alkali industry, EDC/VCM and PVC
  • Direct experience with Chlor Alkali ( CA), Ethylene Dichloride ( EDC), Vinyl Chloride Monomer ( VCM), Poly Vinyl Chloride ( PVC)
  • DCS and SIS implementation and integration
  • Major and Mega Capital Project experience

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The principal function of the Instrument and/or Electrical Engineer representative assigned to the Engineering Team is to provide electrical and/or instrumentation engineering expertise and know-how at state-of-the-art levels in instrumentation and/or electrical systems and components so as to successfully complete the capital investment program consistent with Company objectives and technical requirements during engineering/design, procurement/fabrication, construction and pre-commissioning of their assigned Contract Package.
  • Responsible for advising the Engineering Manager, Construction Manager and Project Manager of deviations from instrumentation/electrical engineering, and/or installation standards, specifications, drawings, etc. Industry codes and standards, and/or engineering practices and applicable procedures as well as input to resolution of non-conformance
  • Ensure facilities that meet all specified requirements in accordance with Companys published requirements
  • Ensure that technical quality, physical integrity and operational performance of instrument and/or electrical system designs, installations and pre-commissioning activities for the Contract Package to which they are assigned meet Project Execution Plan objectives and specifications as well as Company needs and requirements.
  • Provide the primary source of electrical and/or instrumentation technical expertise and know-how that is available to project engineering managers to ensure complete appraisal of Contractor performance within their assigned Contract Package area ( whether related to engineering/design office or field issues)
  • Adopt, maintain and apply a set of Company procedures for technical reviews, equipment selection, quality, safety, and operability checks and standards for engineering design to be incorporated into contractual requirements as Detailed Engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Adopt, maintain and apply Company electrical and/or instrumentations engineering requirements in a set of supplemental standards, design and installation/ pre-commissioning practices consistent with Company engineering procedures and standards, and to provide interpretation of these for project teams in the file.
  • Provide expertise to ensure effective monitoring and appraisal ( quality assurance of engineering/design, procurement/fabrication, and installation and pre-commissioning ) of Contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Maintain and communicate to the Engineering Manager and Project Manager electrical and/or instrumentation technical requirements and information to allow the Company to maintain design and installations consistent with established standards and specifications.
  • Comply with applicable Laws, Regulations and Company engineering, construction and pre-commissioning procedures and standards.
  • Maintain the highest level of expertise in this technical specialist area in order to carry out the initial capital investment program of the Company within their assigned Contract Package area.
  • Deal with instrumentation and/or electrical engineering, installation and pre-commissioning issues, solutions complexities, and difficulties throughout the life span of the capital investment program in order to meet Company expectations.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes :

  • The E&I Engineer is responsible to align the engineering team of the owner and the contractor to provide the most value given a projects execution plan and contracting strategy.
  • Have detailed knowledge of each projects scope, contracting strategy and execution plan.
  • Understand the capabilities of the owners engineering team required to operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Direct the Engineering Contractors to develop the E&I planning during PDP, FEED and detailed engineering within the cost, schedule and quality guidance.
  • Be knowledgeable in engineering design tools and ways to maximize value by forward integration of design deliverables during project development, fabrication and construction.
  • Hold engineering companies accountable to meet the contractual cost, schedule, quality guidance by implementing well defined scopes of work.
