Electrical Engineer Power Distribution

This position will support facility projects as well as implement projects to improve the productivity, efficiency, and safety of manufacturing processes and facilities. This position will have responsibility for design oversight, installation, and qualification of new and/or modified equipment, controls, and capital projects.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical Engineering, Power Distribution, Plant Engineering, Electric Power Systems, Electric Utility, Utilities, Substations
  • Engineering support for existing manufacturing equipment control systems PLC/Drive (AC/DC) - HMI Vision controls
  • Design and coordinate maintenance of electrical utilities associated with power distribution systems
  • Design and specify electrical equipment motors, sensors, breakers, generators, transformers, substations, starters, etc.
  • Evaluating, developing, and executing projects to include programming and testing.
  • Maintaining engineering documentation
  • Facility support

Skills and Knowledge

  • Electrical Engineering, Power Distribution, Plant Engineering, Electric Power Systems, Electric Utility, Utilities, Substations
  • Subject Matter Expert supporting improvements to the manufacturing facility using Allen Bradley ControlLogix5000 PLCs.
  • Capital Project Management
  • Assertive self- starter with effective communication, interpersonal, project management, and technical skills.
  • Engineering knowledge and experience with electro-mechanical drive systems and controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, AC/DC motors including starters and speed controls, PLCs, HMIs, and assembly machinery.
  • Knowledge of predictive, preventative, corrective design and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment and systems as necessary to prevent and/or eliminate ongoing problems.
  • Knowledge of facility infrastructure.
  • Experience in a mid-level, heavy level manufacturing facility.
  • Working knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma, lean manufacturing principles
  • Hands-on in plant engineering and office skills engineering knowledge and background

Desired, Preferred, Required

M.S. Engineer, B.S. Electrical Engineer, B.S. Engineering

  • Power Distribution, Utility, Utilities, 480v, PLCs - Allen-Bradley (Rockwell) programming experience
  • Drives (VFD/Servo) Allen-Bradley
  • HMI Allen-Bradley
  • AutoCAD 2D
  • Experience with Capital Projects
  • Experience with process control equipment
  • 10 plus years Hands-on in plant engineering and office skills engineering knowledge and background

On-site Monday through Friday work week. Will consider relocation candidates.
