Tasks may include:

Engineer Intern (Mechanical) - To manage capital and non-capital projects and provide technical mechanical support to employees and mechanical system infrastructure.

  • Project concept development and preliminary design assignments.
  • Assignments related to the development of project funding applications, justifications.
  • Participation in the management of construction contracts and the requisitioning of materials and services
  • Project construction, commissioning, and start-up support activities.
  • Working with contractors and plant personnel to determine scope, planning, and execution of work packages for plant projects.
  • Provide technical support to maintain existing mechanical infrastructure. Participate and/or lead root cause investigation and events in effort to reduce or eliminate equipment failures. Provide technical feedback to improve existing equipment.
  • All employees have an obligation to actively participate in the Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Safety Programs. Participation is defined as completing training, inspections and peer-to-peer feedback. Additionally, this role will assist in mitigation of issues and concerns as identified.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering and in good academic standing
  • Team player with a safety-first mindset
  • Ability to effectively time manage multiple projects.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Long-term interest in an engineering career
