Job Summary:

This engineering position focuses on supporting all Behlen Facility repairs and upkeep, with emphasis on building maintenance, electrical distribution design upgrades and upkeep, HVAC, air handlers, dust collectors, boiler maintenance, concrete maintenance and repairs, along with yard upkeep. This position will be responsible for maintaining any licensing required pertaining to all Behlen campuses in all locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the maintenance and repairing of building systems, equipment and components.
    1. Focused efforts on upkeep and repairing aging buildings.
    2. Provides support, coordination, and leadership to all facility maintenance technicians.
    3. Research and champion all facility upgrades to support brownfield manufacturing sites.
    4. Work with plant leadership on cost effective methods to maintain and upgrade plant electrical distribution.
    5. Ensure that Behlen Facilities comply with safety, health and environmental codes and regulations.
      1. Evaluate, implement and monitor facility systems performance (compressed air, wastewater treatment, and electrical, gas and water distribution and consumption).
      2. Responsible for managing large projects to on time, documented and within budget completion. Prefer the ability to provide examples of successful projects managed by candidate.
      3. Ensure all Behlen facilities are safe.
      4. Ensure all facilities are following all building codes and regulations.
      5. Oversee all facility renovation, construction, and repair projects.
      6. Assist in the planning and executing of all changes to Behlen facilities due to growth and/or upkeep projects.
      7. Responsible for creating, updating and keeping all facility drawings using AutoCAD.
      8. Responsible for developing programs to maintain and prevent facility and system issues.
        1. Develop, implement, and maintain maintenance activities for Behlen buildings, air handling equipment, exhaust equipment, overhead rollup doors, dust collectors, water softeners and RO units.
        2. Responsible for researching and executing cost reduction projects for efficient facility operation.

        Requirements:

        • Bachelor’s degree required. A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, or electrical Engineering is preferred.
        • 3 to 5 years of experience related to facility upkeep including leadership experience.
        • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
