Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs work to trouble shoot electrical systems(ie, PLC's, VFD and PWM Drives, servo motors and related systems), understanding schematics and blues, troubleshooting mechanical as well as electrical problems, replacing or fixingponents, and conducting regular maintenance checks to ensure that electrical/mechanical systems function smoothly and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, & upgrade all electrical systems, including programmable controllers, PLC's and Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi and Fanuc equipment within the plant.

Receives wiring diagrams, drawings, specification and instructions covering scheduled and emergency repair, installation and inspection work to be done.

Must have the ability, when required, to repair equipmentponents without the use of wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications and/or instructions.

Plans & performs work requiring a thorough kledge of electrical and electronic theory & principles, wiring specifications, codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.

Will be required to analyze all types of circuits, wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications and instructions covering scheduled and emergency repair, etc.

Install, repair, modification, preventative maintenance, etc.., and simplifying, adjusting any and all electrical units, electronic controls,ponents, and related wiring

Ad to all safety regulations and report any hazards that maypromise a safe workplace.

REQUIRED KLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:

Must have experience in the trade working with industrial automation or a degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or related field.

Extensive experience in Industrial Automation including six-axis robotics, preferably Fanuc and/or Motoman

Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams

Ability to read and interpret drawings (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic)

Extensive experience with Electrical and electronic tools and gauges.

Kledge of hand tools, drill press, lathe and mill, electric drills, Welding (Mig), pipe threading machine, acetylene torch, soldering iron, etc.

General manufacturing experience.

Kledge of electrical tools,bination squares, precision measuring equipment, electronic test equipment, along with various other toolsmon to this trade.

Must be able to work; overtime, different shifts (i.e. 1st, 2nd and 3rd) as needed, must also be able to work Saturdays, Sundays and holidays if required.

Experience with Microsoft Office.

Able to sit, kneel, squat or bend, for long lengths of times.

Able to walk and/or stand for extended periods.

Lift up to 50 lbs. repeatable if necessary.

Ability to work closely with supervision and fellow employees

Ability to read, write andprehend verbal and written instructions

Able to operate man lifts

Setup and climb ladders.

Able to grasp and manipulate small objects such as screws, rivets, wire terminals, etc.

Manual Dexterity:

Ability to handle and manipulate small tools, electricalponents, and wires with precision.

Working in confined spaces or awkward positions, sometimes requiring fine motor control.

Strength and Endurance:

Lifting heavy equipment or parts (up to 50 lbs or more) to install or repair machinery.

Working for extended hours while standing, bending, crouching, or kneeling.

Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, potentially for long shifts (up to 12 hours), while staying alert and focused on safety.

Vision and Hand-Eye Coordination:

Excellent vision or corrective vision to read schematics, wiring diagrams, andponent labels.

Good hand-eye coordination to manipulate tools and electrical parts with accuracy.

Working in Hazardous Environments:

Handling potentially dangerous equipment and electrical systems, requiring awareness of safety protocols (e.g., working around live circuits).

Ability to work in noisy, hot, or high-risk environments (such as factories or industrial settings).

Climbing and Reaching:

Comfort with climbing ladders or scaffolding to access equipment.

Reaching high areas or overhead work for installation and repair tasks.

Flexibility and Agility:

Ability to crawl into tight spaces or work in awkward positions to repair or maintain electrical systems.

Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:

Ability to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, including interpreting wiring diagrams and using diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, circuit testers).

Analytical thinking to identify root causes of problems and determine the best solution, often under time constraints.

Precision is critical in electrical work, especially when dealing withplex wiring systems, safety concerns, andpliance with codes.

Ability to inspectponents for wear, damage, or potential failure and make decisions based on your findings.

Familiarity with industrial control systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and other automation technologies.

Consistently following maintenance manuals, safety instructions, and regulatory guidelines.

Ability to ad to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for tasks like inspections, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs.

Ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure situations (e.g., when equipment is down and production is halted).

Good judgment to prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact on production or safety.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, balancing routine inspections, scheduled maintenance, and urgent repairs.

Efficiently managing time to minimize downtime and ensure that maintenance tasks arepleted on schedule.

Communication Skills:

Ability tomunicate effectively with other team members, management, and operators to report issues, explain repairs, and provide status updates.

Clear understanding of written and verbal instructions, especially when working in a team environment or dealing with cross-functional departments.

Adaptability:

Ability to adapt to changes in technology, production processes, and maintenance tools and techniques.

Willingness to continue learning about new systems, equipment, and regulations.

SAFETY AND RISK AWARENESS:

Kledge of and adnce to safety standards (OSHA, NFPA, etc.) is critical.
