LOCATION: BUILDINGS & GROUNDS

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
2. N.J. State Plumbing License.
3. Four (4) year apprenticeship and achievement of journeyman status.
4. Ability to work well with other tradespersons.
5. Must be a union member in good standing.

DUTIES:
1. Performs the work of a plumber, HVAC mechanic, and Pneumatic Control Specialist in over thirty (30) buildings within the School District.
2. Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing fixtures, water lines/mains/meters, hot water systems, sewers. Clearing and auguring drain, down spouts, and manholes.
3. Installs, repairs, and maintains, science apparatus, sports equipment, lawn sprinkler systems, pool filter tanks/heaters, etc.
4. Responsible for welding and fabricating of piping, large steam and boiler header lines, piping braces and hangers, brazing steam, univent, domestic water, a/c and pool heater coils.
5. Performs general maintenance on all machinery used.
6. Exercises safe and appropriate work habits.
7. Interacts with all tradespersons on job sites in positive manner.
8. Works in consultation with the Foreman/Plumber, HVAC, & Pneumatic Control Specialist Journeyman, other Departments, and vendors as needed to ensure the smooth and timely delivery of various services.
9. Performs other duties and responsibilities related to the operation of the plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic control section of the maintenance department, as may be assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) Month Position

SALARY: In accordance with Mechanics & Laborers contract
