JOB SUMMARY:
The Master Boat Builder is a highly experienced and cross-trained member of the assembly team. They are true utility workers with the ability to perform at a high level anywhere on the line and also support the training and development of other line employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Play an active role in promoting positive employee relations and engagement
Actively support and participate in a culture of safety and continuous improvement within assigned facilities
Lead and perform complex assembly tasks, including electrical, electronic, and mechanical componentry.
Interpret and execute designs from blueprints and specifications.
Construct and install parts such as decks, hulls, and cabins using various materials like wood, fiberglass, and metal.
Conduct quality checks to ensure the boats seaworthiness and adherence to safety standards.
Repair existing boats by fixing leaks, replacing parts, or refinishing surfaces.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Train, coach, and mentor other team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Collaborate with Supervisors, Group Leaders, and functional support to achieve daily work targets.
Adapt to changes in responsibility, processes, procedures, or work schedules as needed.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Proven work experience as a Master Boat Builder or similar role.
Extensive experience and cross-training in high-end pontoon boat manufacturing
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Extensive experience with complex system assembly, inspection, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Strong understanding of boat design and construction techniques.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels of the organization.
Physical ability to stand, walk, crouch, bend, and climb throughout the workday in a non-air-conditioned environment.
Willingness to achieve engine certifications through company-sponsored training with engine OEMs.
