Contract Analyst

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Supply Chain Operations or authorized designee, carries out the necessary activities and functions of the Materials Management Department to ensure products and services are delivered to our Marshall Health Network facilities through required contract creation, management, negotiation, and analysis. Responsible for maintaining information in the Infor System related to pricing and contract loads.

Marshall Health Network System Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes various benchmark and comparison tools to target savings opportunities on such things as current product costs, supply cost per medical procedure, and services provided.
  • Meets with vendors as necessary to negotiate savings resulting from identified analytics.
  • Look for ways to standardize products and services across the network that could result in savings.
  • Achieve cost savings by looking for opportunities to eliminate waste and improve processes while completing value analysis summaries as directed.
  • Participates in various committees across Marshall Health Network that deals with new item or equipment requests and conduct proper analysis to give input on decisions.
  • Provides strategic value analysis, sourcing, and contracting expertise/direction to leverage the buying power of the hospital and GPO.
  • Develop and maintain monthly reports to aid contract compliance and value analysis for savings opportunities.
  • Maintains copies and electronic records of all signed contracts. Enter contract terms electronically to monitor expiration dates for potential renewals or other action
  • Assists in development, negotiation and analysis of bids, RFPs, and contract proposals for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Work with accounting and purchasing to address and correct any invoice discrepancies due to pricing and/or contract loads.
  • As assigned, negotiates orders for capital equipment purchases. Assist users in evaluating alternative equipment and projecting capital budget costs
  • Review contract terms and works with legal to make sure agreements align with requirements outlined by legal across the system.
  • Works closely with Directors, Biomedical Services, and Plant Operations to maintain and oversee preventive maintenance and repair contracts. Tracks savings from contract improvements for preventive maintenance and repair cost.

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Finance or Business related field preferred. May be substituted with High school graduate plus college level courses or training in business finance and contract law, or transferrable experience in healthcare contracting and analytics.

Experience

  • A minimum of two years of position related experience in purchasing, contracting, or accounting. Must have experience with Excel.
