Slurry Superintendent

Our Slurry Seal Superintendent will be a natural at building relationships, have impeccable organizational skills, ability to work under deadlines and understand the business. The Slurry Seal Superintended will manage those projects awarded to Union Pavement Services, Inc. efficiently and under budget. Hire and maintain crew staff and oversee equipment ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Directs and manages projects for completeness and accuracy.
• Responsible for scheduling crews and subcontractors, monitoring them to assure project specifications.
• Monitors job status from beginning to completion.
• Assures pre-job submittals are accurate and on time.
• Supervision and safety of personnel.
• Critiques the accuracy of documents from field.
• Interacts with inspectors on a daily basis apprising them of project status.
• Directs crew and maintains foremans report and job diary for completeness and accuracy. .
• Verifies and procures signed daily material usage sheet and orders material and determines accuracy of daily progress of project.
• Sets up materials for projects until on site foreman takes over.
• Builds project schedule and monitors crews production and public safety.
• Communicates hours and quantity of project status.
• Have thorough knowledge of all paperwork requirements and office procedures relative to project.
• Assembling and dispatching crew for upcoming projects.
• Assures compliance with company drug and alcohol policy.
• Attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Special projects as assigned.
• Responsible for training, performance, inspecting, budgeting, coaching and/or counseling, to complete projects under budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum three to five years in the road surfacing industry.
• Must have excellent communications skills both written and verbal to interact with internal crews, subcontractors, vendors and customers.
• Proven leadership qualities.
• Must possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects utilizing organizational skills and communications skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility regarding timely and accurate completion of work, and a strong commitment to corporate goals.
• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is essential or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Three to five years experience in road surfacing industry and supervisory experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
