Performs diagnostic checks of all electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical circuits in the wastewater treatment plant and pump stations to insure the efficient operation of all circuits and equipment. Installs and repairs conduit and wiring in and about the treatment plant, including the replacement of fuses, and related electrical fixtures. Troubleshoots and repairs digital, analog and pneumatic instrumentation. Installs and repairs electronic samplers and metering devices and performs general maintenance on all electrical equipment. Prepares requisitions and assists with writing specifications. Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; and, must be journeyman level electrician with a minimum of two years circuitry or electronic experience. Experience as a construction or maintenance technician. Must hold a valid state driver's license. Must complete required NIMS level training within first six months of hire. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of pumps, motors, and treatment plant and pump station equipment. Knowledge of safety rules and policies related to electrical maintenance and repair. Knowledge of electrical systems. Skilled in electrical repair work and troubleshooting of electrical, digital, analog, and pneumatic instrumentation. Skill in proper use of a computer and in recordkeeping. Skill in proper operation of mobile equipment. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and wiring schematics. Physical Demands: Occasionally, must be able to exert in excess of 100 lbs. of force; frequently, in excess of 50 lbs. of force; and constantly, 20 lbs. of force. Must be able to climb, balance, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, walk, stand, pull, grasp, and lift up to 75 lbs. (plus or minus 25 lbs.). Ability to perform repetitive motion duties, have visual and hearing acuity, and enter confined spaces. Typical Working Conditions: Normal wastewater treatment plant environment. Potential for exposure to different types of hazardous materials, chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, and gases. Occasional exposure to conditions of extreme heat and cold and varying weather. Contact with the public or employees where explanatory or interpretive information is exchanged, gathered, or presented.

Hours of work: Monday through Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
