Excavator Operator

Location: Vance, Tuscaloosa, and Bessemer, AL
Pay Rate: $20-$24 per hour (based on experience)

United Trades of America is currently hiring Excavator Operators to assist with commercial site development projects in Vance, Tuscaloosa, and Bessemer, AL . These projects focus on sanitary and stormwater drainage systems, pump/lift stations, and water main installations .

• Operate excavators ranging from 10-50 tons to complete trenching, grading, and backfilling work.

• Dig trenches and prepare job sites for pipe installation while maintaining safety and accuracy.

• Work alongside pipe layers and laborers to ensure proper alignment and placement of underground utilities.

• Read blueprints and grade stakes to determine depth, angle, and slope requirements.

• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance to ensure safe operation.

• Adhere to all OSHA and company safety policies while operating heavy equipment.

• 2+ years of experience operating excavators in a commercial construction setting.

• Ability to read site plans and grade stakes for excavation work.

• Strong understanding of trench safety and soil stability .

• Must be comfortable working around live utilities and maintaining a safe work environment.

• Must have reliable transportation and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check .
