Summary:
This position will require someone to perform tasks involving physical labor indoors and outdoors, including the movement of material, equipment, and parts between production areas, operating hand/power tools of all types, including air hammers, surveying, and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble and debris. May assist other craft workers. This field position may require travel to various areas in the Pacific Northwest or US Territories; hours worked while in travel status could be up to 12 hours per day.
Please note this is an on-call position with 100% travel. The pay rate for this position is $35.00/hour.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : (including but not limited to)
- Rough or finish carpentry work
- Ability to lay out a project mathematically.
- General knowledge and ability to perform other disciplines such as painting, plumbing, electrical, excavation, sheetrock installation, and finishing.
- Assist and coordinate with other team members to complete tasks on time and within budget.
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
- Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, or stucco through hoses to clean, coat, or seal surfaces.
- Tend machines that pump concrete, grout, cement, sand, plaster, or stucco
n and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble and debris. May assist other craft workers. This field position may require travel to various areas in the Pacific Northwest or US Territories; hours worked while in travel status could be up to 12 hours per day.
Please note this is an on-call position. The pay rate for this position is $35.00/hour Admin rate. This position is 100% travel.through spray guns for application to ceilings and walls.
- Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment or to heat and move materials such as asphalt.
- Build and position forms for pouring concrete and dismantle forms after use using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts.
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
- Dig ditches/trenches, backfill excavations, and compact/level earth-to-grade specifications using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes.
- Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures.
- Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools and distribute them to the appropriate locations according to project plans/specifications.
- Measure, mark, and record openings and distances where construction work will be performed.
- Raze buildings and salvage useful materials.
- Demonstrate various architectural finishes, such as but not limited to carpeting, ceiling tile, drywall, etc.
- Patch, repair, and install various Architectural finishes, such as, but not limited to, carpeting, ceiling tile, drywall, etc.
- Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Three (3) years of experience as a Carpenter
- Knowledge of construction machines and tools, including their designs, uses, maintenance, and practical application use
- Valid Driver’s license with the ability to be covered under company vehicle policy and the ability to travel to local facilities
- Ability to pass background checks by various Federal Agencies (e.g., DOD, DHS, FAA, etc.) to obtain security access badges
- United States Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical school in the art of carpentry
- OSHA 10 Training Certificate
- Knowledge and experience with Alaska Native cultures

Physical Demands (including but not limited to):
- Frequent lifting, sitting, standing, stooping for prolonged periods of time, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity, should have good hand-eye coordination and motion control in coordination with handling tools, equipment, and other related components.
- Reaching with hands and arms for items above and below sight level, talking, hearing, and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth, color perception, and the ability to adjust focus); walking from place to place within the project location with occasional use of stairs and no elevator available; bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for up to 12 hours.
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, such as small electrical components, equipment, and other materials.
