Overview

Brighton Resort is seeking a Lift Mechanic to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our ski lift systems to ensure the safety and reliability of mountain operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, a keen attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on all aerial and surface lifts in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to ensure lifts operate safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-operational and periodic safety checks to maintain compliance.
  • Respond to lift breakdowns promptly and work efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs for all lifts.
  • Work closely with the Lift Operations team to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Assist with lift installations, modifications, and upgrades as needed.
  • Adhere to all Brighton Resort safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for both employees and guests.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current on lift maintenance best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid US driver’s license
  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Previous experience as a Lift Mechanic or in a similar mechanical/electrical field preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with lift components, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including snow, wind, and cold temperatures.
  • Able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level or above preferred.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in remote mountain locations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work long hours when necessary.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, during peak season.
  • Training in electrical systems or welding is a plus.
