    • Description:

      Experimental Mechanic Supervisor

      Supervise unionized experimental mechanics supporting testing operations. Testing operations include Battery Lab, Brake Development Lab, Road Test Simulation, Engineering Garage.

      Plan, coordinate and prioritize experimental mechanic activities to meet testing operation objectives in a safe and efficient manner.
      Comply with the collective bargaining agreement,
      Supervise in accordance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
      Be integral to the path to Zero Injuries

      Responsibilities include but not limited to:
      Supervise group of experimental mechanics performing test setup, test rig maintenance and other ARDC operational functions.
      Develop and modify standard operating procedures and work instructions for activities, tooling and equipment
      Supervise in accordance to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, procedures and guidelines.
      Oversee experimental mechanics preventative maintenance program for automotive testing equipment
      Prioritize tasks and Client based on urgency and workforce availability
      Maintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, vacation and time off requests
      Perform workplace inspections to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
      Procure parts, materials and rentals as required to complete tasks
      Track data for KPI and KAI performance targets
      Maintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers
      Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment
    • Requirements:
      Certificate of Qualification as an engineering technologist or any trade designation
      5-10 years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting
      Experience with automated equipment with preference to automotive assembly or automotive component testing would be a benefit
      5-10 years of experience in a unionized labour environment
      Technical knowledge of automobiles and electric vehicles would be a benefit
      Willingness to accept a wide variety of assignments
      Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations
      Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, ability to learn and operate other computer based and web based programs
      Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills
      Must have a valid driver's license
      Willing to work weekends and shift work as required

      Location: ARDC - 100% onsite

      Driving a Stellantis vehicle is required

      Occasional travel to US required - Occasional meaning 1 to 2 times per month for trainings/meetings
