Your Role: Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-Paced

As a Construction Materials Engineering Technician in Greensboro, NC, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects by performing field and laboratory testing of construction materials, including soil, concrete, asphalt, and masonry. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience, advance your technical skills, and work in an outdoor environment where your contributions directly impact project success.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials to verify compliance with project specifications.

  • Utilize Metafield and other field information systems for data collection and reporting.

  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

  • Adhere to International Building Code (IBC) guidelines for construction materials testing and special inspections.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, contractors, and clients to report project status and address any issues.

What We're Looking For:

  • A High School diploma/GED

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials

  • A minimum of four (4) active certifications, including:

  • American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician

  • International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)

  • DOT Certifications in Aggregate, Conventional Density, Asphalt, and Concrete

  • A strong ability to communicate effectively (speaking, reading, and writing) in English

  • A solid understanding of math concepts related to weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure

What to Expect:

With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), you'll be prepared for:

  • Outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions

  • Walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods (up to 12 hours)

  • Lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment

  • Safely handling field tools and maneuvering equipment on active construction sites
