Plumbing and Piping Estimator

MSD is looking for a **Plumbing and Piping Estimator** to join our team!The Plumbing and Piping Estimator reviews schematics and blueprints for various projects. The Plumbing and Piping Estimator works to gather, calculate, and compile data for use in all phases of the estimating process and works with the engineering department on design build projects. The Plumbing and Piping Estimator maintains current information pertaining to suppliers and contractors for estimating/bidding activities. The Plumbing and Piping Estimator supports the total quality effort by identifying and responding to the needs of internal and external clients, 100% of the time. - Gather data, enabling informed, accurate estimating on multiple projects focusing on 60% Design Build and 40% Plan Spec- Generate appropriate estimates of various projects focusing on 60% Design Build and 40% Plan Spec- Maintain current, accurate records pertaining to current and potential suppliers/contractors- Coordinate with Operations and Engineering Departments and key client personnel to provide estimates in a timely manner- Coordinate with key internal and external personnel to develop appropriate understanding of project requirements and projections- Establish and maintain relationships with key personnel, both internal and external, to sustain organizational growth- Communicate with Safety Director any existing or potential hazards on job sites- Deliver completed estimating projects efficiently and accurately- Assist Director of Pre-Construction with developing appropriate bidding strategies- Support Plan Spec and Design/Build departments in all phases of project design- Work with Design Build Department on creation and validation of design documents in a timely and efficient manner- Review Plan and Design/Build Estimates/PivotTables- Conduct on-site visits to ensure accuracy of designated projects- Modify documentation, in accordance with all applicable local, state, and/or federal regulations, to meet client's needs and desires- Incorporate appropriate safety practices while developing client estimates- Determine best-price suppliers/contractors in accordance with organizational goals and needs- Maintain database of supplies/contractors, projects, and clients- Comply with all organizational, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations- Make every reasonable effort to ensure safe practices and get every employee home safely **Qualifications and General Requirements** - Detailed understanding on HVAC and Plumbing Systems- Basic understanding of Piping Systems- Ability to read, analyze, and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, memos, blue prints, specifications, contract documents, control drawings, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite- Proficient in Estimating Software (preferred QuoteSoft Pipe)- 5+ years' experience as Design/Build and/or Estimating for mechanical contracting i.e. HVAC, Plumbing/Piping, etc.- 5+ years' plumbing construction field experience preferred- Journeyman Plumbing License required- Ability to clearly communicate in both written and verbal English- Unencumbered US Driver's License- US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status requiredWe value our employees and are committed to doing everything possible to ensure your continued growth and opportunities!* **Mechanical Services & Design complies with applicable federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate, exclude people, or treat them differently because of race, color, ethnicity, religion, culture, languag*
