Engineering Technician - R&D (NE3)

Position Summary:

An R&D Engineering Technician I is an entry level engineering position that will work closely with the engineering and operations teams to promote operational excellence throughout the AA TECH organization.

Employee may be asked to specialize in one or more areas of expertise including but not limited to:

• Welding processes

• Brazing processes

• Tool design/ inspection

• Rework process development

• Specific machine tool processes

• Instrumented Hardware

• Development Testing

Key Responsibilities :

• Be able to perform development manufacturing processes

• Understand flow for development hardware

• Maintain tool health and assure spares are available as required

• Develop new fixtures or methods of testing hardware

• Create standard work for processing hardware

• Disposition non-conforming hardware to standard rework processes

• Assist Product Development Engineering with the following:

O Initial Root Cause and Corrective Action activities

O Submit and execute Process Engineering Change Orders

o Returned Goods process execution

o Submit process samples for Metallurgical evaluation and approval

o Create new test methods for evaluating hardware

o Develop assembly methods or evaluate new process techniques for assembling hardware

o Instrument hardware and fixtures for testing purposes

Required Qualifications:

• Group Leader or HPT experience

• CAD modeling software experience

• Basic Quality Training

• Basic Machining Skills

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk, stand, stoop, bend, crawl, climb and sit for extended periods of time. The team member is required to demonstrate manual dexterity and use hands to operate machinery. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the team member is regular attendance and the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

In addition to the key responsibilities listed above, this position requires successful completion of all other duties assigned by management.
