Job description
The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for carpentry, knowledge of power tools and a desire to work on construction sites. They will be using their expertise to perform various tasks associated with building improvement projects. We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our growing business!
We are looking for a person who:
Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
Enjoys being on their feet and moving around.
Is reliable, friendly, and detail oriented.
Has reliable transportation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Installs foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, concrete, plastics, and composites of multiple materials.
Builds or repairs cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
Fits and installs window frames, interior and exterior trim using a carpenter's level, plumb bob, and laser levels.
Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and materials required.
Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.
Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
Install windows, doors, stairs, and cabinets.
Repair or replace damaged or defective parts or sections of structures.
Inspect work progress to ensure conformity to specifications and adherence to construction schedules.
Operate hand and power tools to shape, smooth, and finish surfaces.
Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.
Assembles and fastens materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
Cleans up worksite debris.
Qualifications:
2 years of experience in commercial or residential carpentry
Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting construction drawings
Proficient in using carpentry tools and equipment
Excellent mathematical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions
Physical stamina and manual dexterity for performing physical tasks
Attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
Good communication skills to collaborate with team members
Strong working knowledge of job site safety
driver's license required
