Your Opportunity

The Stantec Program Management/Construction Management team has an opportunity for an Electrical Inspector, with High Voltage experience, on a project in Santa Clara, California. This position will provide daily visual inspection reports on electrical construction execution activities on a High Voltage site. This is a Regular Full-Time role, with the expectation that overtime will be required, up to 12 hours per day, 6 days per week.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect all electrical activities on a daily basis to confirm installation procedures are aligned with design specifications, manufacturers installation procedures, and California code requirements.
  • Identify non-conformance items in daily report and communicate appropriately.
  • Provide clearly written daily inspection reports on Word & PDF documents.
  • Develop a relationship with general contractor's personnel to support an efficient and safe work site.
  • Communicate clearly with Stantec's on-site Construction Manager to identify confirmation of installation procedures and non-conformance items.
  • Communicate on-site installation items and issues to management.
  • Provide updates of installation procedures, crew sizes, equipment types, and time allocation of specific on-going construction activities to senior management.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Familiar with Protection & Controls, Outages, and Lock Out Tag Out Procedures
  • Experience with safety procedures on a live high voltage substation is an asset
  • Experience in executing project testing, commissioning, and start-up activities is an asset

Education and Experience

  • At least 4 years working in the electrical discipline in high voltage substations installing or supervising installations equipment, cable, bus, structures
  • Journeyman Electrician (California) and/or an Electrical Construction Technologist
  • At least 2 years' experience as an Electrical Inspector
  • Certified Electrical Inspector Certification is an asset
  • First Aid/CPR Certifications are an asset
  • Energy Isolation Certification is an asset
  • Excavation and Trenching Safety Certification is an asset
  • Ability to travel to site as required

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.

  • Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP) - Min Salary $ 104,800.00 - Max Salary $ 152,000.00

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
