Electrical Engineer - Forensics - Tennessee or the Southeast
We're partnering with a highly respected forensic engineering firm to find a talented Forensic Electrical Engineer for their growing Tennessee team. This is a unique opportunity to join a firm that values deep technical skill, professional growth, and meaningful project variety.
What You'll Do:
As a Forensic Electrical Engineer, you'll lead investigations into electrical system failures and equipment damage. You'll perform on-site assessments, conduct root cause analysis, evaluate electrical and mechanical systems, and write detailed, defensible reports for legal, insurance, and industrial clients.
You'll also:
Assess solar power systems (if applicable)
Analyze damaged electrical infrastructure and equipment
Evaluate corrosion, materials, and mechanical properties
Estimate repair or replacement costs
Work directly with clients, attorneys, and peers
Manage multiple complex projects from start to finish
Provide deposition or expert witness testimony (if experienced)
What We're Looking For:
Technical Requirements
B.S. in Electrical Engineering (M.S. a plus)
Licensed P.E. in a Southeastern U.S. state (or eligible within 6 months)
3+ years of forensic investigation/reporting experience preferred
Familiarity with failure analysis, industrial systems, and equipment
Experience with solar power systems is a huge plus
Prior expert witness or deposition experience is highly valued
Proficiency with software tools like AutoCAD, MathCAD, and MS Office
Professional Strengths
Excellent written and verbal communication
Analytical mindset and strong judgment
Self-directed, organized, and able to manage deadlines
Team-oriented and client-focused
Comfortable handling new and challenging situations
Why This Role?
Make a difference: Your expertise will have real impact in legal and technical investigations.
Do what you love: Deep-dive into complex problems without the grind of production work.
Enjoy flexibility: Manage your own schedule and project flow.
Work with purpose: Join a team that's collaborative, driven, and technically respected.
Interested in hearing more? Let's talk even if you're just exploring. We only recruit for firms where we'd send our own kids to work.
