Draper, Inc., a family-owned manufacturing company since 1902, has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Technician. Below are the job duties and minmum qualifications.
Job Duties:
- Installs, preventively maintains, and troubleshoots automated and other equipment including - PLC & CNC controls, robots, electronic components, electrical systems (including 3-phase and 24 vdc), electric motors (including DC, 1-phase, 3-phase, and servo systems).
- Replaces faulty electrical components such as relays, switches, and motors and positions sensing devices.
- Help design and build electrical control panels for equipment and production parts, as needed.
- Help layout, size, and run conduit and pull wire, as needed.
- Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Repairs motors, sensors, lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of the establishment.
- Sets up and operates machines tools such as grinder, drill, milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Follows and supports inventory management system.
- Completes Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks as assigned.
- Maintains the building and grounds including structures, landscaping, parking lots, restrooms, and other facility needs when needed.
- Help with other jobs as assigned.
Minimum qualifications:
- 5 years of electrical maintenance experience including familiarity with electrical codes and understanding of PLC programming and ladder logic.
- Vocational school experience preferred.
- Proven electrical experience in an industrial setting.
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems as we all as general plumbing is a plus.
- Technical/Mechanical aptitude
- Strong problem solving & communication skills
- Able to read and comprehend technical manuals, drawings and schematics.
- Must have initiative to work and be productive without close supervision.
- Detail oriented.
- Able to make accurate mathematical calculations.
- Able to climb and work at heights up to 40'. May include ladders, scissor or boom lifts.
- Basic computer skills
- Must be safety conscious
- Able to lift up to 100 lbs. and maneuver it as needed.
- Working flexible hrs including some weekends will be a requirement.
- Forklift certified or have a willingness to become certified.
The starting pay will be $32.77 per hour. There is a $.75 per hour increase available at 6-month intervals and capped after reaching 24-months in the job.
